How long should I expect to wait for a glass replacement?
About 2 hours for any glass that is not glued in such as a door glass, vent glass and some back glasses. A quarter glass or back glass that is glued in would require a 3-4 hour wait before it can be drivable.
Why does my car need to sit after my windshield is replaced?
The windshield is part of the structural integrity of the car which supports the roof that prevents it from collapsing during an accident and killing the passengers inside. The windshield is also meant to keep a passenger from flying out of the front of the car during an accident and has a part in the functionality of the side airbags. 4-6 hours is recommended for safe drive away time to insure the glue has cured and the safety of the driver and passenger is guaranteed.
Can I wash my car after the windshield or back glass has been replaced?
It is recommended that you wait 24 hours to wash the vehicle after a glass replacement. Hand washing is okay but no high pressure or car washes for the first 24 hours.
How do I know if my insurance will cover my glass replacement and will it affect my premium if I claim it?
If you have comprehensive coverage in Florida on your vehicle, your insurance must cover your windshield replacement under Florida law. All other glass will have a deductible but some insurance companies will waives this on all glass and we can let you know this when you call. If you are unsure about coverage, you are always welcome to call us and we will conference you with your insurance and verify your coverage. Claims made are not supposed to have any effect on your premiums unless you have had several glass claims in a small amount of time. Glass claims are considered an act of God and are no fault of the driver.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes, all of our work is guaranteed against leaks and in the event that you do have a problem we will check the problem and correct anything that was a defect on our part.
What exactly is used glass?
Used glass has just been in another car before, it is still structurally safe. Some glass may have been pulled out of a totaled car and have practically nothing wrong with it or it may have scratches or overspray. All used glass is pulled and inspected by the customer before it is installed so you can make the finally decision to make sure it is what you want.
Will you come mobile to me?
In most cases, yes. We do not go mobile for used glass to insure the customer wants the used glass in the condition it is in. Also for some dealer OEM glass that is special ordered we do the work in shop to insure no damage is done to the glass in transit to the jobsite since the glass is nonreturnable and we are liable once the glass is delivered to us.
Do you repair windshields?
Repairs can we done as long as the chip is not in the drivers vision and it is smaller than about a dime in size. The smaller the size, the better the results! Remember that the chip will still be cosmetically visible but the repair makes it structurally sound.
There is water leaking into my car, can you reseal my glass?
A majority of leaks into the car are not a result of the glass leaking. Most leaks actually come from a body seam, third break light, sunroof or air conditioner. When you bring your car in, we water test the glass by using soapy water and high pressure to look for any openings before any repairs are done. If no problems are found with the glass our technicians will look for other ways the water or air could be getting into your car and seal it if possible or give you a place to start with getting it repaired.
My door glass is not rolling up and down, can you repair it?
Yes, there is most likely a problem with the regulator or motor. Our techs will diagnose the problem in shop and we can then get you a price for the new part. If you don’t want to replace the part, we can just make the glass stay in an up position which is a much cheaper route than replacing.
Do you replace side view mirrors or re-glue rear view mirrors?
Yes, we can order precut side mirrors that are very inexpensive compared to buying the whole mirror. For most mirrors, you need to have the black backing piece to be able to reinstall the mirror. For rear view mirrors, we have a strong adhesive that will last unlike many of the aftermarket products that can be purchased at car stores.
About Window Tint
How long does it take to get my car tinted?
For almost all cars, it takes about 2 hours. Some more complicated cars or SUVs or vans may take slightly longer.
What brand of film do you use?
Llumar, it’s really the best out there.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
The warranty is through Llumar film, it is nationwide which means that anyone who carries Llumar can redo it if it has defects at no cost to you. We now have a 3 year warranties, which we recommend mostly for leases, and a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the car which is definitely worth the money.
Do you remove old tint? How is it done and how long does it take?
Yes. To remove the old tint it is scraped off using razor blades and the glass is kept wet to prevent scratching the glass during this process. To remove the back glass tint and preserve the defroster, it cannot just be scrapped off so it must be steamed off and peeled. We usually say to expect to leave the car almost a full day mostly because it is hard to say how long it will take to get the back glass tint off.
How dark can I tint my car?
We only tint legally for the state you live in. For Florida, you can have 30%% on the two front doors and 15%% on the rear windows and back glass. The smaller the number, the darker the tint. All of the tint has a 99%% rejection of UV rays, the heat rejection varies by how dark the film is. The front doors must be lighter shade than the rear so if you do not like the shade change you would have to get medium all around. SUVs and vans can go as dark as limo on the rear.
Can I get the windshield tinted?
Legally you can only tint the strip at the top of the windshield not the full glass.
How is the tint cut?
The tint is all hand-cut so it has a micro-edge border and the back glass is one piece. The tint is cut on the outside of the windows but no worries the blades are stainless steel that are new on every cut so they will not scratch the glass in any way.
Can I wash my car afterwards, clean the windows?
Since the tint is on the inside of the window, the car can be washed. Make sure not to roll down the windows for at least 3 days and they should only be cleaned with product NOT containing ammonia and a soft cloth.
My car looks hazy now that I just got it tinted, is something wrong with it?
The tint may look like that for a few weeks until the tint cures. The best way to speed up the process is to leave it out in the sun; it draws the water out that you are seeing. If you are seeing a fingerprint, hair, ect it needs to be addressed so let us know.

Really great company gives outstanding service. Hired them to replace the cracked windshield on nearly 50 year old Corvette. I thought that it would be a mission to find the windshield but they had it in one day at a great price. They came out the next day to install it ... and wouldn't! The reason? There was a burr that caused the prior one to crack, and if they installed a new one then it would probably crack as-well. I think that alot of places would have just installed it anyway and then let me have to buy another one in a short while. Instead, Auto Glass Specialists stated what needed to be corrected and didn't charge me for that service visit. I fixed the burr and they promptly came back and installed the windshield. Excellent final product. Diane is professional and very courteous. Amazing service and fair price. Diane was very helpful and kind. Had 2 windows broken by vandalism and they had them replaced within 2 hours of dropping off my car. Even moved it inside immediately because it was starting to rain. And the price was <1/4 of what the BMW dealership wanted. They even vacuumed out my entire car of the glass shards. Had a rock hit my windshield on my car. Called Geico who at first had Safelite fix it. They didn't do a very good job. I then called the Mercedes dealer who recommended Auto Glass Specialists. They handled the entire claim and dealing with the insurance company. They ordered OEM glass and two days later, I brought my car In. Their service was outstanding. They arranged for a rental car and were easy to work with. The windshield was finished a few hours later and looks great.
